What is RixCaps?+
A web app to add styled captions to short video: upload, transcribe, edit, and export from Chrome or Edge without installing desktop software.
Does my video leave my computer?+
By default, no. Video and local speech recognition stay in the browser. Optional cloud metadata sync uploads project JSON only (captions/styles), not the video file. Account email and credit ledger are stored server-side.
Is transcription free?+
Local Whisper-based transcription is free. Optional cloud transcription, if enabled by the operator, uses credits. Clean (no-watermark) export always uses credits by video duration.
How do payments work?+
Buy credit packs with PayPal (USD) or WeChat Pay (CNY). We do not store full card numbers. Credits unlock clean export and other paid features shown in the app.
Can I get a refund?+
Digital credits are generally non-refundable after successful payment, except when a verified system fault charged you without delivering credits. See the Refund Policy.
Which browsers are supported?+
Desktop Chromium browsers (Chrome / Edge) are recommended for WebCodecs-based export. Other browsers may have limited support.
